Sharpen Technologies, a cloud contact center platform with an agent-first focus, announces today the promotion of Bracken Fields to the position of chief technology officer (CTO). In the role, Fields will be responsible for the company’s technology strategy and oversee operations to achieve new levels of performance and innovation on a global scale.
With more than a decade of experience in the communications industry, Fields most recently served as Sharpen’s executive vice president of product and infrastructure where he oversaw the development of the company’s cloud-native multi-tenant platform. He also was tasked with ensuring the platform evolved alongside marketplace trends while operating fluidly on global networks.
Under Fields’ leadership, Sharpen’s platform has successfully placed more than 65 million calls over the last six years and supports clients in more than 13 geographic regions. Fields’ most notable accomplishments also include the creation of Sharpen’s global replication technology, Sharpen Q and Sharpen Insights.
“Over the past ten years, Bracken has evolved into a technology visionary who has been influential to Sharpen’s success,” said Cameron Weeks, CEO of Sharpen. “With a distinguished track record of driving change and delivering results along with his undisputed passion, Bracken embodies the perfect skill set for this elevated role. We are very fortunate to have such a talented industry leader guiding our company’s technology goals, especially as Sharpen continues to deliver exceptional first-class innovation to our customers.”
Fields has been with Sharpen since its inception. He co-founded the company alongside Weeks in 2011 after he developed the real-time communication technology that serves as the foundation of Sharpen’s platform. Together, Fields and Weeks have evolved the company into an industry trailblazer by providing a contact center platform that creates happier agents and delivers outstanding customer experiences.
“I am excited to transition into this new role and further Sharpen’s technical mission,” said Fields. “As Sharpen continues to undergo rapid growth, I look forward to further enhancing our platform by capitalizing on emerging industry trends and providing the industry with sophisticated tools that truly revolutionize the customer journey.”
